Why can’t I stick to my New Year’s Resolution to stop drinking alcohol?

Why can’t I stick to my New Year’s Resolution to stop drinking alcohol?

Popular New Year’s Resolutions:

  • To lose weight
  • To stop smoking
  • To only drink alcohol on the weekends

Did you start off the new year with the right idea, but have now reverted back to the previous habit or behavior?

Why is that?  Do you lack will power?  No.

When it comes to permanent behavior change, there are six elements required for achievement of a New Year’s Resolution and has nothing to do with one’s will power. All 6 are easily accomplished through hypnosis.

To understand how this is difficult for most people we start with how the subconscious mind operates and how to change the direction of this part of the mind so that unhealthy habits can transform into healthy ones easily, effortlessly and permanently with hypnosis to stop drinking alcohol.

Our actions or behaviors are actually governed by unconscious urges that drive us to self-defeating behaviors even if our conscious mind is set on not doing so. No matter how much a person wants to stop a behavior it is difficult unless the subconscious mind agrees with the conscious rationalization to stop a bad habit. And most times it does not.

For example, if a smoker wants to quit, the subconscious mind has imprints that say “wine calm me down when I’m stressed out” so the person may be able to hold off the urges for a while, but something usually triggers that old feeling and the person experiences an uncontrollable force that unconsciously leads them to the behavior that they are trying to eliminate. What this means is if a person decides consciously to quit and this is supported by rational reasons, the subconscious might say, “no way, I need wine because it helps calm me.”

So, until the two parts of the mind agree, there will be difficulty sticking with resolutions. That is where hypnosis comes in, because hypnosis effectively reprograms the subconscious to carry out the conscious intent. Isn’t that cool?

When setting a goal these are the six elements required for permanent personal change:

  1. YOUR BELIEF.
  2. YOUR DESIRE.
  3. SELF -SABOTAGE.
  4. FUTURE VISION.
  5. SELF TALK.
  6. IDENTIFICATION OR ASSOCIATION.

When a person successful accomplishes all six of these areas with hypnosis, permanent change occurs.
